The Effingham County Ghost Hunters Society was founded in 2010 by our lead investigator Stephanie Leftwich. She found a group of fun loving like minded individuals and together we explore the unknown. From local ghost stories and cemetaries, to private homes all over Effingham County Illinois and its surrounding areas, we cover it all.

Some of our favorite haunts include the Williamsburg Hill Cemetary, Kings Cemetary, and the recently unearthed poor farm. That being said, we have done many private residences with great success and are always looking for new investigations. Our experienced investigators will be very professional and if you prefer, discreet. We have a medium, as well as others that are sensitive to spirit activity in our group to help communicate with "visitors".

Our group is open to anyone and will find us a fun loving vivacious group that thinks of each other like family. We are a diverse group spanning many different ages and faiths. We have individual members and entire families.

We usually have one meeting a month,and investigations vary of course depending on weather and availability. No special equipment is needed, although almost everyone brings at least a camera. After a few hunts you will find yourself shopping online for tools of the trade! Joins us for fun and honest curiosity of the unkown. Skeptics welcome!
